Co-founded by Dr. Thanaa Abdelbaset and Ms. Haya Abdelbaset, the academy offers diverse opportunities for people of all abilities to explore their artistic potential.
Dr. Thanaa Abdelbaset: A Visionary Leader
Dr. Thanaa Abdelbaset, one of the driving forces behind Art Academy, holds a degree in Interior Design and Furniture from Helwan University. Her academic achievements include a diploma in furniture design and ongoing master's studies. Dr. Abdelbaset combines her expertise in design with a passion for community service, volunteering extensively with organizations supporting individuals with disabilities. Notable highlights from her career include:
- Participation in international competitions, such as the Creative Diary Competition in Rome, where her project, "The Power of Pharaohs in Galaxy Hotel Main Entrance," earned recognition.
- Active involvement in the "Eyes of the Blind" organization, facilitating international collaborations.
- Organizing events like the "Ngoom El Alataa" festival for the visually impaired across Egypt and Kuwait.
Dr. Thanaa’s expertise in Pharaonic and Islamic furniture design and her leadership in creative initiatives have significantly contributed to the academy's success.
Ms. Haya Abdelbaset: A Blend of Art and Restoration
Ms. Haya Abdelbaset, co-founder of Art Academy, is an accomplished restoration specialist. A graduate of Cairo University’s Faculty of Archaeology, she brings her extensive academic and practical knowledge to the academy. Her professional journey includes:
- Hands-on experience in restoration projects, such as the maintenance of the Muhammad Ali Palace.
- Contributions to the conservation of artifacts at esteemed institutions like the Egyptian Museum and the Islamic Museum.
- Establishing a drawing studio to inspire and teach artistic expression.
Haya’s background in documenting and photographing antiquities, coupled with her passion for fostering creativity, underscores her invaluable role at Art Academy.
